Borage Seed Oil

Borage Seed Oil is pretty amazing and this is one of the reasons I chose to include it in our Indulgent conditioner. 

You may know it as Starflower oil and is the ultimate oil for an intense treatment for your hair, especially if you have sensitive, inflamed or irritated scalp.

Borage Seed Oil is a common herbal treatment in traditional medicine practices for hundreds of years, borage oil has numerous uses — ranging from treating skin flare-ups to lowering pain.

Borage oil is an extract made from the seeds of the Borago officinalis plant, an annual herb that is mainly planted and cultivated for medicinal and culinary uses.

It is used for the treatment of various diseases such as multiple sclerosis, diabetes, heart diseases, arthritis and eczema.

Why I Love Borage Seed Oil and use it in our Indulgent conditioner

• The most beneficial aspect of using borage oil either topically on the skin or internally is for its extremely strong anti-inflammatory effects.
• Borage oil is becoming increasingly popular as a natural anti inflammation remedy because it has one of the highest amounts of gamma-linolenic acid  (GLA), an essential fatty acid also known as vitamin F which is generally used as dietary or food supplement.
• GLA is one type of omega-6 “essential” fatty acid that the body cannot make on its own,  so it is extremely useful to include it in our diet and hair-care products
